Part A: Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) covers inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility, hospice, lab tests, surgery, home health care.
Part B: Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers, including doctor and other health care providers' services and outpatient care. Part B also covers durable medical equipment, home health care, and some preventive services.
Part C: Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) is a privatized way that Medicare beneficiaries can choose to receive their health benefits. Medicare beneficiaries that opt into a Medicare Advantage plan no longer receive their benefits from the government (Original Medicare) but receive their benefits directly from the insurance company. Medicare Advantage plans include all benefits covered by Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B, but typically also include Medicare Part D prescription drug benefits.
